Work in progress!
This article is a work in progress! This means that it's still being edited and is not complete but we are working on getting it finished.

The following page will guide you through how to upload, label and use different images on the Bratz wiki.

General Guidelines

  • Artwork must be official from MGA or from an official Bratz social media account.
  • Images of dolls should be the largest, highest quality image possible.
  • If you remove an image from a page, please add the 'delete' template to the image page so an admin can delete it.
  • Fan art is only allowed in on discussions, personal profiles, blog posts and the wikis fan corner.
  • Doll photography is allowed in certain areas, but must be credited to the original artist.

Uploading Files

If you're new to fandom and don't know how to upload images, please check out this Blog Post.

File Types

There are only two file types allowed on the wiki: jpg and png.

JPG

Jpg or Jpeg is the standard file format used on the Bratz Wiki; almost all files uploaded to the wiki should be in jpg format.

PNG

PNG is a file format only used for headers, logos and artwork. This is because png allows an image to be transparent, allowing us to upload images of characters and remove the box packaging from the background.

No other files besides artwork, headers and logos should be a png file.

If you're still confused check out this blog post.

File Names

We have a naming system here on the Bratz wiki to ensure a clean, easy to use search system. Images with random file names that do not follow this format will be deleted. We will not rename them for you.

Doll Images

A doll image is an image of a doll, including but not limited to:

  • Doll faces
  • Doll bodies
  • Doll boxes

These are usually found on product listings or on the MGAE website. Here are some examples of doll images:

Doll images follow a very simple naming format of "LINE - CHARACTER NAME (TYPE).jpg".

  • LINE refers to the line of dolls the doll appears in. For example, a doll in the "Hollywood Style" line would start with "Hollywood Style".
  • The character name refers to the character featured in the image. For example, if the image is a picture of Dana, the character name part of the file would say "LINE - Dana (Type).jpg". Since this Dana doll is from the Hollywood Style line, the file name would be "Hollywood Style - Dana (Type).jpg".
  • Type refers to what part of the doll is in the image. We currently have 4 doll image types, they are:
    • Nothing - since the doll is the "main product", there is no need to list a type for doll images.
    • (Close Up) - an image of the dolls face
    • (Box) - an image of the front of the dolls box
    • (Reverse) - an image of the reverse of the dolls box

For example the doll images above are named:

Hollywood Style - Dana.jpg
Hollywood Style - Dana (Close Up).jpg
Hollywood Style - Dana (Box).jpg
Hollywood Style - Dana (Reverse).jpg

Playset Images

Here are some examples of playset images:

All playset images follow the following format "PLAYSET NAME - CHARACTER NAME (TYPE).jpg".

  • PLAYSET NAME refers to the playset featured in the images.
  • CHARACTER NAME refers to the character featured in the image. For example, if the image is a picture of Cloe, the CHARACTER NAME part of the file would say "Playset - Cloe (Type).jpg".
  • Type refers to what part of the playset is in the image.

For example the playset images above are named:

Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (1).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (2).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (Box).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (Reverse).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (Right Side).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (Left Side).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (Bottom).jpg
Formal Funk Super-Stylin' Runway Disco (Top).jpg

Playset Accessories

Here are some examples of playset accessory images:

They follow a simple format of PLAYSET NAME - ACCESSORY TYPE.jpg. For example a compass from the campfire line would be named "Campfire - Compass.jpg".

The playset accessory images above are named:

Campfire - Binoculars.jpg|Binoculars
Campfire - Milk.jpg|Milk
Campfire - Soda Cans.jpg|Soda Cans x 2
Campfire - Compass.jpg|Compass

Artwork

Singular pieces of artwork follows the same naming convention as playsets and dolls.

Here is an example of some artwork images:

Artwork follow a very simple naming format of "LINE - CHARACTER NAME (Art).png".

  • LINE refers to the line of dolls the artwork is originally from. For example, artwork from the "Hollywood Style" line would start with "Hollywood Style".
  • The character name refers to the character featured in the artwork. For example, if the image is a picture of Dana, the character name part of the file would say "LINE - Dana (Art).png". Since this Dana artwork is from the Hollywood Style line, the file name would be "Hollywood Style - Dana (Art).png".
  • In this case the the file should end with (Art) to mark it as an artwork.

For example the artwork in the gallery above is named:

Art-Titude - Yasmin (Art).png
Collector - Yasmin (Art).png
Cowgirlz - Sasha (Art).png

Headers

A header is a strip of artwork displayed at the top of a page. These are usually found on the old MGAE website or on the MGAE amazon page.

Here are some examples of Bratz headers:

Headers follow a very simple naming format of "Page Name Header.png". For example the three headers in the gallery above are named:

Dynamite! Header.png
Yaz Header.png
Princess Header.png

Promotional Images

A promotional images is a photograph of a product distributed on social media platforms, to news and media agencies to promote the product. There are different naming conventions for a promotional image depending on whether the image is of a group or a individual character.

Group Promotional Images

Here is some examples of a group promotional image:

For a group promotional image like the one shown above, the image is simply named after the featured line. For example the images above are named:

Birthday Bash.jpg
Tokyo A Go-Go.jpg
Neon Pop Divaz.jpg

Additional group promotional images from the same line will require a number to be added to the end of the file name. For example, 3 group images of the Live In Concert line would be named:

Live in Concert.jpg
Live in Concert (1).jpg
Live in Concert (2).jpg
Individual Promotional Images

The second promotional image type is a individual promotional image. Here is an example of an individual promotional image:

All individual promotional images follow the following format "LINE NAME- CHARACTER NAME (Promotional Image).jpg".

  • LINE NAME refers to the doll line or playset featured in the images.
  • CHARACTER NAME refers to the character featured in the image. For example, if the image is a picture of Cloe, the character name part of the file would read "LINE NAME - Cloe (Promotional Image).jpg".
  • In this case since the image is a promotional image it should include "(Promotional Image)" in brackets at the end of the file name.

For example the images above are named:

I-Candy - Phoebe (Promotional Image).jpg
I-Candy - Yasmin (Promotional Image).jpg
I-Candy - Cloe (Promotional Image).jpg

Media Images

Fashion Pack Images

Fashion Packs are packs of clothing and accessories available to purchase separately from dolls. These are usually found on product listings or on the MGAE website.

Here are some examples of fashion pack images:

Fashion pack images follow a very simple naming format of "PACK NAME - CHARACTER NAME (TYPE).jpg".

Other

For other types of images it's best just to look at other images already uploaded and see how they are named. If you're still confused contact a admin.

Categories

All images must be categorised with the characters names followed by images. For example an image featuring Fianna must be in the category "Fianna's Images".

Every category should have it's own description. If not, the following description should be used.

The following category contains images of [[name]], including artwork, product images, stills and promotional material.
