Not So Hot for Teacher (aka Beast of Burdine) is the second episode of season 1 of Bratz the series.

Synopsis

Cloe and the Bratz sign up for a fashion course and the new teacher is Burdine. Burdine is determined to give the Bratz a lot of work so they are forced to give up and unable to continue the magazine.

Plot

The episode opens on Jade, Sasha and Yasmin working on their cheerleading routine for the Stile Tigers cheerleading squad tryouts. Cloe arrives late and tells the girls that her parents warned her if she doesn't keep up her B average she will have to quit working at Bratz magazine. The girls come up with a plan to get Cloe an 'easy A' by taking a Fashion & Design class.

Burdine is angry to find out that Your Thing sales are down 20% and are being toped by Bratz Magazine. Burdine receives a call from Dr. Raginman, Royale's vet. He tells Burdine that Royale is 14 ounces overweight and has fleas.

At school the girls meet up with Dylan, who has dyed his hair bright orange. He is campaigning to get voted as the 'Most Attractive Guy' in the school yearbook and because last years winner was a redhead, Dylan dyed his hair red to boost his chances.

Burdine overhears the Bratz plans to take the Fashion & Design class and signs up as a teacher. The Bratz pack, along with Kaycee, Kirstee, Eitan and Cameron attend the class. At the end they are given essay topics. Sasha's topic is "pink is the new black", Jade's is "fuchsia; fun on the brink of pink" and Yasmin's is "everything but the kitchen pink". Cloe's essay is a little different. The topic is "The impact of 19th century labour unions on American textile exporters of pink fabrics" and gives them a week deadline. She gives Eitan and Cameron the topic of "30-years of pink fashion at Stiless High".

Burdine tasks the Tweevils with helping Royale to lose weight. Cloe struggles with writing her essay and working on her 'Dear Cloe' column, but Sasha ensures her that she can do it.

Dylan learns that two-years before Philly Yates, who was voted hottest boy, had a tattoo so he gets Yasmin to put a pretend one on him. Dylan runs into Kaycee and Kirstee as they're training Royale and drops the yearbooks he's been researching. Kaycee picks up an old yearbook and finds out that Burdine was voted worst dressed.

Burdine overhears Cloe crying about her assignment and gives her an F on her essay, much to Cloe's anger. She gives Eitan and Cameron a task to write a sonnet about pink and the Bratz are told they have three-days to put on a pink fashion show.

Burdine fails Kaycee and Kirstee after finding out that Royale gained weight. She gives them a new assignment to make a concealing outfit for Royale to hide his weight gain. They decided to get even with Burdine and break into her safe to get her yearbook picture.

The girls are stressing out about the show when Cloe decides to take charge. She gives out tasks, Jade will design the clothes, Sasha is in charge of music and she and Yasmin will sort out the rest. They decide the next issue of their magazine will be about how to put on a fashion show and get to work.

Kaycee and Kirstee sneak into the school at night and cover it in copies of her yearbook photo. When Burdine finds out she accuses the Bratz of having done it and threatens to have them expelled, but they have no idea what she's talking about.

Kaycee and Kirstee dye Royale black to make him look slimer, angering Burdine. Burdine finds out the truth about the photos when Kaycee and Kirstee slip up about seeing the photos during the day, when Burdine had removed them all before class started.

Eitan and Cameron perform their sonnet "This Is Not Your Mother's Pink" in rap form whilst the Bratz and Dylan walk the runway in pink outfits. Royale sabotages his own owner when he throws a pile of Burdine's yearbook picture into a fan, scattering the contents to the crowd. Burdine blames the Tweevils and gives them a F.

Dylan wins Stiles High "Most Attractive Dude" for being himself, the magazine is a success and the principal makes Burdine give the girls all A's.

Trivia

  • Their pink outfits are a recoloured version of their Treasures! outfits.
  • Burdine's coffee order is "small low-fat, decaf, soy milk cappuccino with extra foam".
  • On Burdine's desk she has a picture of a white dog with brown hair. It is unknown if this is Royale before she was dyed, or another dog of Burdine's that may have passed on.
  • Along with Aloncé (a character that is introduced in a later episode as a parody of Beyonce) the Bratz characters mention two other 'Bratz' celebrities, Hilary Fluff and Low-J (parodies of Hilary Duff and J.Lo respectively)
  • Polita, Cloe's mother, is mentioned in both this episode and the previous episodes, but does not appear. Cloe is the only character to frequently mention her parents.
